In the grand scheme of things, It aint that bad as long as there is space next to your home. You can block space using your car (s) and/or talk to your neighbors (mine will be so happy to get rid of me they will camp overnight to make sure I have space for the van) to not park right across your door. Word of encouragement: parking fines can be cheaper than parking suspension in some councils.
